Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT) is an attachment science-based approach to individual therapy. Similar to EFCT for couples and EFFT for families, EFIT offers a space to make sense of oneself emotionally and relationally. It focuses on relational interventions aimed at reshaping patterns of engagement with self and significant others.

Emotion takes precedence across treatment modalities due to its profound role in structuring inner experiences, motivation, and key interactional patterns in relationships. Emotion serves as the link that organizes core experiences and interactions.

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT) is a structured approach to couple therapy.. Rooted in attachment science, EFCT integrates humanistic, experiential techniques to restructure emotional experiences with systemic, structural approaches aimed at reshaping interactions. Extensive research supports the effectiveness of EFCT, demonstrating significant treatment effect sizes and enduring results.

EFCT has been successfully utilized across diverse settings, including private practices, university training centers, and hospital clinics. It has shown efficacy in addressing various challenges, including depression, trauma-related anxiety, medical illness, PTSD symptoms, and forgiveness dilemmas, among others.

EFCT is culturally adaptable and has been employed with diverse couples across continents. It is inclusive of all couples/relationships regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or expression (LGTBQ2S+ relationships).

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) applies principles and techniques of EFT to mend familial bonds and cultivate resilience with family dynamics. At it’s core, EFFT aims to restore, secure, family patterns, characterized by affective attachment and caregiving responses, fostering, prepared, emotional connections.

These renewed bonds serve as a foundation, creating a network of security that nurtures individual growth and fosters meaningful relationships across generations.

A Focused Approach to EFT Therapy

What sets my practice apart from others is my commitment to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with my individuals, couples and families. EFT is a transformative model that provides me with a clear roadmap and focus. With EFT, I have an understanding of what to prioritize and where to direct our attention. Quite simply, the core of human connection and vulnerability within our most significant relationships.

In EFT, we recognize that it's within these crucial relationships where we are most vulnerable and where we often lose our emotional balance. EFT offers a map to navigate these challenges, identifying where individuals tend to get stuck in their emotional patterns and relational dynamics. I focus on unraveling the internal cycles within individuals and the interconnected cycles with their significant others, commonly referred to as the "within" and the "between."

Central to EFT is the understanding that the self is inextricably linked to relationships, constantly contrasted and shaped by our interactions with others. By focusing on the whole person and their life struggles, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, experiences, and relationships, ultimately fostering growth, healing, and lasting change.
